Window Shopping - vintage finds at PB

Pottery Barn offers much cooler stuff online than in their stores - a way better selection of all the great stuff that we've alway loved about PB. Right now they have some very cool VINTAGE pieces including these train mirror/luggage racks, old sewing machines, cameras and giant apothecary jars. I really like that they include half a dozen shots of how to decorate using these great old pieces - nice job PB!

Inspiration - old tin.

These vintage tins are from a small collection at The Laundry I can never resist a scruffy old tea caddy or biscuit tin :-)

Edible art

How's this for a wedding cake? I love to paint but I think I'd be a bit nervous painting directly onto a cake, wouldn't you? I think it's the prettiest thing I've seen this week so far - great job - from Amelie's House via Paper Cakes Finds.

Dana Tanamachi's chalk boards

I'm still have trouble with the Blogger meltdown - Blogger seems to be slowing down so much in the evening making it really difficult to publish posts - hopefully they'll get it sorted out soon - noticed I lost a lot of pictures and comments too! Oh well - onward and upward!

My friend Fiona sent me a link to Dana Tanamachi's website - with these wonderful, hand lettered chalk boards. I just knew you would love these. So beautifully designed and crafted. It takes a lot of skill to work in such a large format and such delicate medium as chalk - I'm so impressed - you?

Vintage ephemera

I've spent a little too much money on Ebay recently but I just love to have original ephemera to work with and I can't get enough of these fab travel labels, especially the die cut ones like this first one.

Uzbec Suzani resource

I thought I'd share this with you in case any of you are looking for a good source for pretty Uzbec Suzanis. This Ebay seller has a great selection and they seem like a good price too.

Thrift store tutorial for your sweet tooth!

I love these cookies - and I love the little pedestal plate that they are lying on. Lucky for me this clever gal has blogged a simple little tutorial on how to make your own cookie/cake plate using a couple of simple thrift store finds. Check it out and while you're there take a look at all the amazing sweet things she creates everyday!
